55 | The Necessary Thing: Choosing the Good Portion (Part I)

What if the problem isn't that you're not doing enough for God—but that you've been doing so much for Him, you've forgotten how to be with Him?

Most of us started this year the same way we ended the last one: running, serving, grinding, telling ourselves, "I'm doing this for God," while quietly wondering, Does He even see me?

In Luke 10:38–42, we meet two sisters: Martha, who welcomed Jesus into her home but spent the whole time frustrated in the kitchen, and Mary, who sat at His feet and listened to His Word.

One was busy for Jesus. The other was present with Jesus.

And Jesus said:

"You are anxious and troubled about many things, but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."
— Luke 10:41–42
